Chris Baird

Christopher Baird (b. 1995) currently serves as a member of the United States Air Force Band Ceremonial Brass located in Washington D.C. The duties of Ceremonial Brass members include providing Military Escort for families in Arlington Cemetery, performing at White House Functions, State Funerals, Inaugurations, and other various Military Ceremonies.

Christopher is originally from Long Island, NY but relocated to Melbourne FL, where his music interests began. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Central Florida (UCF) where his primary teachers were Dean Jeffrey Moore, Dr. Thad Anderson, and Prof. Kirk Gay. While at UCF, he performed with the UCF Black Steel pan ensemble, and was a featured soloist with the UCF Percussion Ensemble. While going to school in Central Florida, Christopher has worked with many marching percussion programs such as Hagerty High School and Melbourne High School.

He holds a Master of Music degree and Doctorate in Percussion Performance from Florida State University. During his time at FSU, Christopher worked with undergraduate percussion students in a private lesson setting, worked with music educators in the percussion methods course, as well as coached the FSU Percussion Ensemble. He has performed as a section percussionist for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (2018-2023), Northwest Florida Symphony (2019), and Sinfonia Gulf Coast (2019-2023).
