Ryan Boehme

Originally from Mobile, AL, Ryan Boehme is a percussionist living in Tallahassee, FL. In addition to pursuing his Doctor of Music in Percussion Performance at the Florida State University, he currently serves as the Acting Principal Percussionist of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and regularly plays with other regional orchestras in Florida. He has a wide range of performance experience, including touring with A Brother's Revival (an Allman Brothers tribute band), playing in jazz big bands and combos, and playing marching snare and bass drum in Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at Walt Disney World. As a student, Boehme has performed with the FSU Percussion Ensemble, including their IPEC Showcase Concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 2023. He has also served as Principal Percussionist for the FSU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra.

Boehme recently served as the Visiting Instructor of Percussion at the University of Central Florida. In addition to directing the UCF Percussion Ensemble and New Music Ensemble, he taught graduate and undergraduate applied lessons in marimba, jazz vibraphone, and drumset. He has also served as an instructor, arranger, and clinician for several university and high school drumlines and front ensembles in Alabama and Florida. As a private lessons instructor, Boehme teaches concert percussion, marching percussion, and drumset to middle school and high school students.

Boehme serves as an Educator for Zildjian, Vic Firth, and Balter Mallets. His primary teachers include Dr. John W. Parks IV, Dr. Thad Anderson, Kirk Gay, Jeff Moore, and Dr. Luis Rivera.
